Location: Palo Alto, CA — Hybrid (Full-time)
Role Description
Urban Sophistication is looking for a Head of Marketing to build and own our marketing function — turning creative direction into a systemized, measurable growth engine. You will work directly with the founders to set strategy, build the operating rhythm, and guide execution across every channel. You will manage a small team — a Paid Media Specialist and a Marketing Coordinator — with the team growing under you as the business scales.
What You'll Own
Marketing Strategy & Systems
- Build and own the annual and seasonal marketing calendar, with a repeatable system for every launch — kickoff, deliverables, timelines, and post-launch recaps
- Set distinct strategy for our scalable cases business vs. our developing apparel and bags categories
- Turn ad hoc campaign execution into a structured, repeatable process, prioritized by business impact
Growth & Performance
- Own the acquisition engine: paid media performance, creative testing, and new customer growth
- Build stronger CRM, retention, and repeat-purchase strategy
- Define success metrics before every launch, and build reporting that drives decisions — not just tracks them
Product Launches & Go-to-Market
- Own go-to-market for every launch, collection, and collaboration — organic social, creators, paid media, email/SMS, PR, retail, partnerships
- Preserve what makes each campaign distinct even as launch volume scales
Global Marketing Leadership
- Guide marketing strategy and execution across our markets, including our teams in Japan and Korea
- Ensure brand consistency globally while enabling strong, locally relevant execution
Creators & Brand Distribution
- Build a structured creator/influencer strategy across gifting, paid partnerships, and long-term relationships
- Increase the volume and quality of content generated around the brand
What Success Looks Like
- Growth and quality of the customer acquisition engine, domestically and globally
- Consistency and predictability of the marketing calendar and launch process
- Clarity of reporting, and how directly it informs what happens next
- Strength and output of the creator/influencer program
- Founders' visibility into what's working and where to invest next
Qualifications
- Comfortable working directly with founders in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment
- 4–8 years of hands-on marketing experience at a DTC or digitally native consumer brand
- Experience at premium consumer, fashion, beauty, accessories, or lifestyle brands — ideally through a meaningful stage of revenue growth — is strongly preferred
- Experience across paid media, CRM/email/SMS, creators/influencers, and product launches
- Strong instincts for customer acquisition, retention, and marketing measurement
- Strong brand and creative judgment
- Ready to take real ownership of the function
